PEKAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak yesterday made a heartfelt appeal to all Muslims in the country to remain calm and stop inflaming the situation further in reaction to the decision by the Kuala Lumpur High Court to allow a Catholic weekly to use the word “Allah”.
He said the government cared for and understood their strong feelings and reactions to the decision and appealed to them to exercise restraint and patience while the matter was resolved through the legal process.He reminded them that there were still other avenues for the government to resolve the issue, by filing an appeal with the Court of Appeal and Federal Court, and that the Home Ministry would do this soon.“We understand and care about the feelings of the Muslims.“This is an extremely sensitive issue and it touches the hearts of all Muslims.“There has been an outpouring of emotions and reactions since the decision by the court but I hope we can remain calm and let the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court make the decision.
“I hope the matter will not escalate and worsen and that this sensitive issue can be resolved in the best possible manner,” he said at a press conference after presenting excellence awards to 371 pupils from 53 schools here who scored 5As in the 2009 Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah
Suaratambunan agree with PM advices and do hope that this isues shall not be highlighted through media constantly in order to safegaured the feelings and sensitivity of the non muslims ( Christians ) . Public demo's do more harm than good, thus let the autorities concern resolve the isues in the best possible manner for the interest for the people of Malaysia. Let us unite as 1 Malaysia.
Let the Court of Appeal and Federal Court with the consent of DYMM make the final decision for everybody to respect with.
